During times such as these, we often
hear folks expressing fear about the economy, the housing
market, unemployment and Wall Street. Some folks have
lost a considerable amount of money in their investments,
others have lost their homes. But all of these seeming
losses pale in the light of global transformation. Crisis
often precedes transformation.
As we reach the end of an age, old systems
break down. The negative energy that has been present
in race consciousness comes forward to be expressed, released
and healed. Our monetary systems are the outward symbols
of shared agreements in consciousness. These agreements
are always based on assumptions about the nature of reality.
Many of these assumptions are the result
of Darwinian thinking, such as survival of the fittest,
and competition for resources. More and more, we are realizing
the flaws in these assumptions. The future of the human
race, and of our planet, depends on cooperation among
the life forms, not competition. There is enough to go
around—there always has been. It’s a matter
of distribution.
As long as we believe that we must hoard
our resources, as long as we believe that it is acceptable
for the majority of people to live in deprivation, as
long as we believe that it is ethical to make a profit
by exploiting other people, we are stuck in old age fearful
thinking.
We are approaching the tipping point;
when enough people share the consciousness of the New
Age, the old institutions and mores will automatically
crumble.
We’ve seen it before. We saw the
Berlin Wall come down. We saw the end of the Cold War.
We are seeing this now in the collapse of our financial
systems. Just as Feudal Europe gave way to the Renaissance,
we are experiencing the birth of a new era—a leap
forward in the evolution of human consciousness.
The prophets of our age have been speaking of these times
for many years now: Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jean Houston,
Eckhart Tolle and many others tell us that we are at the
dawn of the New Heaven and the New Earth.
When we read the Book of Revelation,
we find 20 chapters of fire, monsters, devils and suffering.
The last two chapters are totally different. They are,
in fact, the most beautiful in the entire Bible. We read
from Chapter 21:
“Then I saw a new heaven and
a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth
had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw
the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of
heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her
husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
‘See, the home of God is among
mortals.
He will dwell with them;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.’”
It is thought that the reason the Bible
has two distinctly different endings is that humankind
had a choice to make. For centuries, we were headed straight
for an Armageddon of consciousness that would have resulted
in the doom and disaster portrayed in the first part of
Revelation.
But at some point, perhaps at the Harmonic
Convergence in 1987, we changed our course. The great
gatherings of light workers at sacred sites all over the
planet resulted in the awakening of our awareness of our
inner divinity. We began to heal the belief in separation—separation
from God, separation from nature, separation from each
other. In the process of this healing, we diverted our
future course into that described in the last two chapters
of Revelation. We chose the New Heaven and the New Earth.
There has never been a more exciting
time to be alive. There has never been more meaningful
work to be done. Those of us born in the latter part of
the 20th century came to midwife the New Age. We stand
with one foot in old age traditions and the other foot
in the freedom and celebration of the New Age. We are
the bridge in consciousness that is allowing the human
race to evolve.
Now is the time. This is the place.
And we are the ones that we’ve been waiting for.
Fear not! All is well!
